Hello friend.

Hello friend? That’s lame. Maybe I should give you a name. But that’s a slippery slope, you’re only in my head, we have to remember that. Sh*t, this actually happened, I’m talking to an imaginary person. What I’m about to tell you is top secret. A conspiracy bigger than all of us. There’s a powerful group of people out there that are secretly running the world. I’m talking about the guys no one knows about, the ones that are invisible. The top 1% of the top 1%, the guys that play God without permission. And now I think they’re following me.

It’s weird, right? I know, but I love this dialogue.

Who am I?

I’m Luis Gerardo (aka spawnmc), a Full Stack Developer and SysAdmin from México, currently studying Networks and Services at Universidad Veracruzana. I’m passionate about building things, breaking things (ethically), and understanding how systems work at a deep level.

What I do

  • Full Stack Development: Building web applications with modern technologies
  • System Administration: Linux server management, automation, and infrastructure
  • Open Source: Contributing to projects like Synex Linux, a minimalist Debian-based distribution from Argentina
  • Cybersecurity: CTF challenges, penetration testing, and continuous learning in the security space
  • Content Creation: Sharing knowledge through this blog about Linux, Docker, security, and development

Technologies I love

  • Operating Systems: Linux (Debian, Arch, Synex), Unix-like systems
  • Containers: Docker, container orchestration
  • Languages: Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Bash, Go
  • Tools: Git, Vim/Neovim, tmux, nginx
  • Databases: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis

Philosophy

I believe in the power of open source, the terminal, and continuous learning. The command line isn’t just a tool—it’s a superpower. Every day is an opportunity to learn something new, break something, fix it, and share what I’ve learned.

Curiosity drives me. Whether it’s diving into a new programming language, exploring a Linux subsystem, or tackling a difficult CTF challenge, I’m always looking for the next thing to learn.

CTF & Security Practice

I actively practice on platforms like HackTheBox and TryHackMe to sharpen my skills. You can find me as spawnmc (#469376) on HackTheBox.
